The Daniel Pearl Education Center (DPEC) would like to thank you sincerely for your recent participation in our annual golf outing. The support over the years of all of our golfers and sponsors is deeply appreciated and has enabled us to host a wide range of programs in support of our mission – and Daniel’s legacy – of promoting community and understanding.
Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic has played havoc with one of our signature events: our yearly trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Over the years, we have taken more than 1,000 members of our local communities – in particular, teens and pre-teens from area houses of worship and youth groups – to bear witness to one of the most iconic repositories of the results of hate. We are hopeful of reinstating that important trip as soon as the schools and youth groups are once again comfortable with this type of field-trip program.
Like many organizations, the DPEC is presently at a crossroad regarding the most effective way to further our mission in this still unsettled time. We are currently reviewing all of our programs – our trip, our speaker series, our East Brunswick High School scholarships, and more – and hope to come up with a reconfigured and reinvigorated DPEC in the very near future. We welcome any ideas you may have that will aid as in our future vision as we look to continue our 20-year history of important work. We will certainly keep you all informed in the weeks and months to come.
Thank you again for your continued support!
