Author, Muslim feminist and former Wall Street Journal reporter Asra Nomani spoke on antisemitism before and after the October 7 Hamas-led attacks in Israel in a recent program co-sponsored by the Daniel Pearl Education Center. In a program titled “Pearls of Wisdom,” Nomani also explained why she seeks to fight extreme interpretations of Islam that divide people “with a sectarianism that used her friend and fellow Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl’s identity as a Jew as an excuse to brutally murder him.”
Nomani was joined on the Zoom panel by Dr. Judea Pearl, Daniel Pearl’s father, who has since Daniel’s tragic murder more than 20 years ago been a consistently powerful voice against anti-Semitism.
Nomani, a friend and supporter of the DPEC since its founding more than 20 years ago, is the author of “Woke Army: The Red-Green Alliance That Is Destroying America’s Freedom” and “Standing Alone: An American Woman’s Struggle for the Soul of Islam” and a regular commentator on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, the Washington Post, the New York Times and BBC.
